When 3 artists from legendary bands get together you know some awesome music will soon follow. Darrin Pfeiffer (Goldfinger) and Chuck Dailey (I Mother Earth) with Dustin Jones (Inner City Surfers/Dustin Jones and the Rising Tide) formed The Conspirators a few years ago. In late 2019 they were set to release their first record, “While The World Sleeps”, but Covid-19 snuck in and hampered those dreams.

So let’s take a deep look at the new record. The first track is “Don’t Want To Come Down”. First off Dustin’s vocals are excellent and remind of Whitfield Crane (Ugly Kid Joe and life Of Agony). There’s a pure grunge feeling to the track. The gang vocals really add a pack to the punch. Darrin kills it on the drums.

The next track is “Bottle Then the Shakes”. It talks about the dangers of alcoholism, the shakes, and the emotional swings. It’s super catchy and Chuck’s bass thumps with power. One of my favorites is up next and it’s called “Not Today”. It sounds a bit like face To Face or No Use For A Name. The premise? Not Today Satan, not today.

“Sick And Broken Hearted” follows Dustin’s guitar riffs are amazing. This track seems more along the pop punk side, yet retains a skatepunk feeling with fast chords and powerful drums. “Sunday Best” this song kicks serious ass. The lyrics blew me away. The guitar riffs, bass bumps, and seemingly perfected drums will keep this on repeat.

“Taking Over” feels like it was written just for me. “Now I’m barely holding on, I’m like a faded old tattoo, this trip is taking way too long, I miss the innocence of youth”. This song is rad in every which way possible. Now people who know me know I’m not a fan of acoustic music in general.

I love my electric bass, guitar and drums. So upon hearing the intro to “I’m Sure” I kinda lost some energy from the previous, but it wasn’t until I really opened my ears and listened. This track is from a son to his mother and truth be told it made me cry, very hard. It’s beautiful and should be playing on every station around the world.

Overall “While The World Sleeps” by The Conspirators is my new jewel in the rough. With tracks like “Don’t Want To Come Down”, “Not Today”, “Sunday Best”, “Taking Over” and “I’m Sure” you will be playing this one over and over again.
