Yes there have been rumors swirling about like ravens caught in a tornado of fire. Those rumors are that The Lucky Eejit’s, new album, “Out Of Time” is pretty damned good. Their last release “Do It Again” was released in 2016. That record is amazing. Could the rumors be true? Can The Eejits stand the test of time?
So how does “Out Of Time” hold up? Let’s check it out! The record starts out with, “Get Out”. This track is energetic from the start of the feedback sample. I’m already digging it. The drum work is beyond good. Hit the pit! Have you ever left a relationship feeling all to blame for the fall? This track is about recovering from a bad relationship.
The next track is “Re-Light”. The lyrically writing on this track is brilliant and immediately catchy. The guitar and bass seem to be both doing their own work while working in tandem. My favorite song on the record is next, “Champion”. It starts out with some wicked anthem whoas, before the immaculate drum work begins. This track is driven by hope, and calls for a united drive for change.
“So Far So Good”, follows with a great guitar intro. This song has a darker theme, but seems meticulous in composition. More amazing lyrics with great vocals from Fitzpatrick! “Happy Accidents” is comes roaring next. The speed on this track is nuts!
“Out Of Time” is up next and slows down the pace. The bass is prominent on this song. The lyrics are fantastic and near to my heart. You know when you’re in a bad relationship, even though heart and head may not be on the same page. This track has serious potential. Be sure to tell Punk Tacos to play it! This is a sad song, but so damn good.
“Got No Heart”, follows and feels like it follows the love story in “Out Of Time”. The drums stick out, along with the well written chorus. Damn I’m starting to think these rumors are true. So far this album kicks major ass. “Check Your Math”, is up next. This track is 100% skate punk! The call is a call to action for all of us!
“Cold Stare” continues the amazing raw sound, slows the pace a little. The track I feel is in relation to the government’s lack of action on gun control. It’s sad, because it’s true. Still a kick ass song! “Return Of A Black Rose”, comes next and talks of liberation. The guitar and drums steal the show on this track.
“Jailor Serry”, is up next. This track is a kick ass old fashioned drinking song. It’s fast, fun, and funny. The last song is up next, “Warm Guinness”. This track is about the tour life and mentions the legend that is Nick from Bridge City Sessions. Check out the video below for “Re-Light” from the Eejits session on Bridge City.
Now it has come time to review the rumor. Is “Out Of Time” by the Lucky Eejits a good record? Considering I haven’t stopped listening in 3 days I have to confirm this rumor is indeed FACT! With tracks like, “Get Out”, “Re-Light”, “So Far So Good”, the Lucky Eejits have compiled a fantastic record. I cannot wait for them to visit Denver. We all owe them an ice cold Guinness.
